ISP Student Author Travel Grant

The International Society on Pulsed Power Applications e.V. (ISP) sponsors a limited number of supplemental travel grants to eligible and selected ISP student authors who plan to present and publish an accepted paper at the EAPPC 2020.

Who is eligible?

  • You must be a full-time student author in a, undergraduate, graduate or PhD-program who will present your accepted paper (in person or via virtual) at the EAPPC 2020 and submit your manuscript.
  • You must submit your complete application, a current certificate of enrolment/or equivalent statement from your supervisor, a short CV and a short letter of recommendation from your supervisor or department head before June 18, 2021.

Who is NOT eligible?

  • Postdoctoral students (students who have completed their PhD, ScD, or MD program) are NOT eligible.
  • If your travel expenses are completely covered by third party e.g. employer, you are NOT eligible.

What does this grant cover?

Each grant is intended to partially reimburse travel expenses (airfare, ground transportation, and/or hotel) and/or the conference registration fee until a maximum amount of 600 €. Meals  are not eligible for reimbursement.

Application Process

How do I apply?

If you are eligible to apply, and you have received your official acceptance notification email from the EAPPC organizing committee, ISP Travel grant Form, complete it and send it together with your curriculum vitae, a current certificate of enrolment/or equivalent and a letter of recommendation from your supervisor or department head to secretary@pulsed-power.org until June 18th, 2021.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

How are grant applicants judged?

In case of more than 5 applications, applicants are selected by the managing board of the ISP.

When are grant applicants notified?

Grant applicants will be notified approximately two weeks after the application deadline.

How are grant recipients reimbursed?

  • For applicants from the EU

Grant recipients must collect and submit a copy of their travel receipts for reimbursement within 30 days of the conference. Reimbursements will be made by bank transfer after the conference. Reimbursements will not exceed the total amount of the submitted receipts.

 

  • For applicants from outside the EU

Grant recipients must collect and submit a copy of their travel receipts for reimbursement at the conference. Please visit the ISP-booth at the conference. Eligible applicants will be informed about the date and time of reimbursement by a separate email. Reimbursements will be made in cash at the conference. Reimbursements will not exceed the total amount of the submitted receipts.
